West Freeway School of Evangelism is part of the HomeMission Ministry. It began several years ago to help reverse the trend of churches in America shrinking and eventually closing their doors. Over 35 churches of Christ are closing their doors every year in America. Home Mission is a team of ministers working full-time or retired who have joined forces to find at-risk congregations and help them develop new ministries, visions, and works that will help them grow.
This work has been very successful, and as a result, many of those churches have grown and, in some cases, have hired full-time ministers. HomeMission focuses on helping them develop what gifts and opportunities they have to learn how to visit people in their communities, minister to the needs of their communities, and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with their lost friends and neighbors. All the training and printed materials for the classes for the training and development of those congregations are provided by HomeMission at no cost.
This school of evangelism was a lifelong dream of Jack Cummings. He put everything in motion and spent many hours refining and fine-tuning the curriculum for the school. We were very saddened to lose Jack to COVID-19 before he could see his plan come to be. Jack’s dedication to the Lord and bringing the lost to Christ is our drive!
